Beni-Suef University’s Faculty of Education Participates in the "Course Design" Training Program in Cairo within the USAID-Funded Tameyuz Initiative Forum

Under the patronage of Professor Mansour Hassan, President of Beni-Suef University, and the guidance of Professor Osama Mahmoud Qarni, Dean of the Faculty of Education, faculty members Dr. Eid Mohamed Abdel Aziz, Associate Professor in the Department of Curriculum and Teaching Methods, and Dr. Hadeel Hussein Farag, Associate Professor in the Department of Psychological Health and Deputy Director of the Quality and Accreditation Unit, participated in the "Course Design" training program.
The program took place over five days, from Monday, December 16, 2024, to Friday, December 20, 2024, as part of the Tameyuz Initiative Forum, funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).
The workshop covered various key topics, including:
- Multidisciplinary and Interdisciplinary Education
- Designing Multidisciplinary and Interdisciplinary Courses for Teacher Preparation
- Educational Practices in Multidisciplinary and Interdisciplinary Courses
- Developing SMART Learning Outcomes for Students
- Backward Design in Course Development, focusing on learning outcomes, curriculum components, course descriptions, and study plans.
Additionally, the training addressed effective teaching standards based on behavioral learning theories, cognitive learning theory, and information processing theory. It also explored teaching methods such as teaching collaboration and alternative teaching strategies.
At the end of the workshop, participants were introduced to various assessment methods for multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary courses, including formative assessment, authentic assessment, and strategies for aligning evaluation methods with learning outcomes, course content, and educational activities.
