Research Abstract

Abstract Title of the Study: "Integration Between "Frayer Model" And "Cover, Copy, And Compare" Strategy For Developing The Conceptual Understanding And The Science Self Efficacy Among The Primary Four Pupils ". Researcher: Dr. Eid Mohamed Abd-ElAziz Abou-Ghaneima: Lecturer of Curriculum & Instruction, Faculty of Education, Beni-Suef University. The study sought to identify the Integration between "Frayer Model" and "Cover, Copy, and Compare" Strategy for developing the conceptual understanding and the science self efficacy among the primary four pupils. The study followed procedures that were in harmony with the descriptive approach and the quasi-experimental approach of the two equivalent groups. The study used two measurement instruments as following: the conceptual understanding test and the science self efficacy scale among the primary four pupils (prepared by the researcher). The study community was chosen from Martyr Abu Baker Al-Nazlawi School in Beba educational directorate in Beni-Suef governrnorate for the academic year (2017-2018). The study community members were (86) male and female pupils who were divided into two groups as an experimental group (43 pupils) and a control group (43 pupils). The study concluded the conceptual understanding dimensions for the primary four pupils and the science self efficacy dimensions. Moreover, the study concluded the integration foundations between "Frayer Model" and "Cover, Copy, and Compare" strategy, And the strategy produced from integration between them. Findings of the experimental study indicated on the one hand, this integration had a statistically significant effect and an acceptable effectiveness in improving the conceptual understanding; on the other hand the integration effectiveness was weak with regard to improvement of the science self efficacy among prep four pupils; despite the fact that the integration was of effect with regard to development of the science self efficacy in the study community members; not to mention there was statistically significant and positive correlation between the conceptual understanding and the science self efficacy among the experimental group pupils. ---------------------- Keywords: Frayer Model, Cover, Copy, and Compare Strategy, Conceptual Understanding, Science Self Efficacy, Fourth Grade Pupils Abou-Ghaneima, Eid (2017).
