Title: Episodic Memory of Children with Down Syndrome (Diagnostic Study)
Abstract
The current study aimed at: diagnosting the episodic memory of children with Down Syndrome, The study sample consisted of (20) children with Down Syndrome males and females from the schools of intellectual education at Beni Suef Center, Baba Center and Nasser Center, They are between (7 years, 6 months to 18 years and 6 months), with an average age of (13.52) and a standard deviation of (3.28), The researcher used, The episodic memory's Scale (the parents's profile) by the researcher, Personal Event Recall Task (the baby's profile), by the researcher, Recalling Story Events Task (the baby's profile), by the researcher Recalling Images Task (the baby's profile), by the researcher, By using the appropriate statistical methods, results showed: statistically significant differences between the mean age grade levels (7 years and 6 months to 12 years and 6 months), (12year and 7 months to 18 years and 6 months) in The episodic memory's Scale (the parents's profile), Personal Event Recall Task(the baby's profile), Recalling Story Events Task(the baby's profile, Recalling Images Task(the baby's profile), In addition, there were no statistically significant differences between the urban, rural, male and female grades of children with Down syndrome in The episodic memory's Scale (the parents's profile), Personal Event Recall Task(the baby's profile), Recalling Story Events Task(the baby's profile, Recalling Images Task(the baby's profile), using the Qualitative analysis to Personal Event Recall Task (the baby's profile), results revealed that: Episodic Memory is different Qualitative not quantitative to males, females, urban and rural to children with Down syndrome, However, Episodic Memory differ in quantity
and Quality according to age, Episodic Memory in older children is higher than that of younger children with Down's syndrome.
