Making Use of Mobile Phones and Smart Phones in the Learning Process "An Exploratory Research" Prepared by Dr. Eman Mahdy Mohammed Lecturer of Instructional Technology Faculty of Education-Beni-Suef University 2011 Abstract The goal of current research was to determine the extent to which students of the Faculty of Education make use of mobile phones and smart phones in rendering the educational process. Moreover, the research attempted to identify students' attitudes as per the use of this technology in the educational process. The researcher posed such questions: "What is the status quo of the use of mobile phones and smart phones as for students of the Faculty of Education in rendering the educational process?", and "What are Faculty of Education students' attitudes towards the use of techniques of mobile phones and smart phones in the educational process?" The research tools encompassed a questionnaire designed by the researcher to identify the use of mobile phones and smart phones as for students of the Faculty of Education in rendering the educational process. The researcher designed also an attitude scale in order to determine students' attitudes towards the use of mobile phones and smart phones in the educational process. The current research used the descriptive-analytical method. Tools of the research were administered to first year- faculty- of -Education students, general section. The researcher forwarded a number of recommendations and suggestions for further studies.
