Imagine a proposal to inculcate the environmental values of high school students
Master Abstract
Master Thesis Abstract
The study aimed to identify the role of secondary education in instilling the environmental values of its students and to develop a suggested scenario for activating this role in the light of contemporary global trends. The study used the descriptive approach and the method of content analysis. Three questionnaires were applied to the administrative body, Beni Suef Governorate in its seven centers in instilling the environmental values of its students, where the questionnaire was applied to 79 managers and agents, 279 teachers and 695 students
Results of the study showed:
- The sample of books did not contain an adequate number of environmental values to contribute to instilling environmental values among students
- The lack of coordination in the distribution of environmental values within books or between books to take into account the principle of continuity of experiences and continuity
- High school does not play its role in instilling the environmental values of its students
- Low participation of students in environmental activities that may be announced by the school, reflecting the low level of environmental awareness among students
- There are no statistically significant differences between boys 'schools and girls' schools in their role

Planning Research Role in Upper-Egypt Universities in the Light of Development Needs
PHD Abstract
The present study aimed to identify the university system in Egypt and the status of Upper-Egypt Universities within it. It also identified the developmental needs of the university communities. Then, it figured out the function of the academic research in these universities and to what extent the Universities in question meet the actual developmental needs of their communities. It also attempted to map out a future vision for developing the academic research role of the Universities in question in the light of the developmental needs of their communities and the local as well as the global changes.
The present study used a compound methodology that included a descriptive approach to analyze the actual development and its indicators in Upper Egypt and monitor the reality of the research role in these Universities in the light of the developmental needs; and prospective (future) methodology that used systematic analysis to analyze the university system through universities inputs, processes, and outcomes. Moreover, SWOT Analysis was used to evaluate the points of strength and weakness within the system, identify available opportunities, and future threats. In addition, the Delphi Method was used with its several rounds and scenarios tool to draw paths of development. The study was applied on some faculty members at Upper-Egypt Universities (Assiut University, South Valley University, and Sohag University).
The study found that the overall research situation in Upper-Egypt Universities does not serve the needs of development as required. The study proposed three scenarios to map out the future vision of the development role of research in Upper-Egypt Universities.
